The Consortium “Etiology and pathogenesis of oral cancer in young adults” has been organized by the Cancer Research Institute of Tomsk NRMC and includes six large medical centers: Tomsk National Research Medical Center, N.N. Blokhin Oncology Center, National Medical Research Radiological Centre, The Burdenko Main Military Clinical Hospital, The Loginov Moscow Clinical Scientific Center, and Sechenov University. The Consortium is aimed to investigate the causes and mechanisms of oral cancer origin and recurrence in young adults and develop new diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic approaches. In particular, it is planned to reveal the role of germline variants, immune features, and microbiota in the development of early-onset oral cancer and the contribution of somatic genetic alterations and the tumor microenvironment in oral cancer recurrence.
